2011 Chrysler 300

When it first debuted in production form in 2005, the Chrysler 300 turned heads and changed minds about what was going on at Chrysler. It was a truly unique and fresh take on the idea of the American luxury sedan. For 2011, the Chrysler 300 gets a thorough and equally original update to its styling that keeps the theme of the first-generation car while moving in a new direction. MotorAuthority rates the 2011 Chrysler 300 at 7 out of 10.

Toning down the original 300's looks somewhat, the new 300 is also more sophisticated. The front end in particular wears a more delicately-designed grille and bumper. Inside the story is much the same, with a wood-trimmed cabin that takes the look in a more mellow direction with the exception of the large, bright LCD touchscreen mounted at the center of the dash.

Power is also refined for the 2011 300, with the Pentastar V-6 engine generating 283 horsepower and mated to a surprisingly capable five-speed automatic. HEMI V-8s are also available in the 300C and 300 SRT8, adding power levels that reach abundant and ludicrous, respectively. The SRT8 is upgraded for 2011 from its previous 6.1-liter displacement to 6.4 liters and 465 horsepower. All versions of the 300 offer a comfortable, relaxed driving demeanor, with only the SRT8 focused enough to be considered truly high-performance.

Comfort is likewise abundant: five adults can fit within, roomy and comfortable seats at all positions. Opt for the SRT8 and the seats become luxurious: thick bolsters and ample padding cradle passengers like 150-mph easy chairs.

Chrysler does its best with the 300's available features and options, too, with iPod/iPhone connectivity, the aforementioned large LCD touchscreen for interfacing with the navigation and infotainment systems, available mobile Internet connectivity and streaming satellite TV, rear-seat DVD monitors, and more.

According to a report from The Wall Street Journal, the US government is willing to allow carmakers to lower the Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFÉ) of their future trucks and SUVs at a slower rate than normal cars.
In return, the Obama administration wants to reach a deal by early next week that will allow the government to improve mileage standards from today’s target of 35.5 mpg (6.6 lt/100 km) by 2016 to 56 mpg (4.2 lt/100 km) by 2025 for both cars and light trucks, leaving the automakers a longer period of time to bring their large trucks, pickups and SUVs in line.

The Sebring comes with standard safety items such as dual front airbags, front seat side airbags, side curtain airbags, and stability and traction control systems.

A new grille, headlamps, hood and deck lid will distinguish the 200 from the Chrysler Sebring, needed changes to give this midsize sedan a fresh look. With strong competition from the Toyota Camry, Honda Accord, Nissan Altima, Hyundai Sonata, Ford Fusion and Chevrolet Malibu, Chrysler needs a contender in the crowded midsize sedan segment.

2011 Chrysler Sebring Beautiful Lighting

“Cheap” has best described the Sebring’s interior more often than not, as Chrysler put on the plastic instead of the class with this model. The 200 moves away from that earlier decision, employing soft touch materials to upgrade the interior. A new instrument panel with fresh gauges, improvements to door panels and arm rests, and more comfortable seats will help distinguish the 2011 Chrysler Sebring.

Chrysler 300

The Chrysler 300 is a full-size car first shown at the 2003 New York Auto Show as a concept car. Sales in the U.S. began in the spring of 2004 as an early 2005 model year car. Designed by Ralph Gilles, the new 300 was built as a luxurious sedan while the SRT-8 model was designed to be the high-performance version. The Chrysler 300 is also marketed in Australia, as the first full-size Chrysler vehicle sold there since the Valiant was discontinued in 1981.The Chrysler 300 is based on the rear-wheel drive Chrysler LX platform which features components derived from the W210 Mercedes-Benz E-Class of 1996 to 2002. Shared components include the rear suspension design, front seat frames, wiring harnesses, steering column, the 5-speed automatic transmission's design, and a derivative of the 4Matic all-wheel drive system. The Chrysler 300 also features a double wishbone front suspension that is derived from the W220 Mercedes-Benz S-Class.The basic 300 (or 300C in some countries) comes with standard 17-inch wheels, wheel covers, four-wheel disc brakes, single disc mp3 player, auxiliary input jack, power driver seat and a four-speed automatic transmission. It uses a 2,736 cc (2.736 L; 167.0 cu in) EER V6 making 190 hp (140 kW). In Canada, it comes standard with the Touring model's 3,518 cc (3.5 L; 214.7 cu in) V6 engine. The vehicle comes with standard rear wheel drive and available all wheel drive. The basic 300 model was renamed to LX for 2008, then Touring for 2009 and 2010.

A redesigned 300 was introduced in 2011. Exterior changes include a revised body, bi-xenon HID projector headlights, LED daytime running strips within the headlights, modified tail lights with LEDs and a horizontally slotted front grill. Thinner roof pillars and a more raked windshield will contribute to improved visibility. A dual-pane panoramic sunroof will offer twice the outward visibility of an average sunroof. The new 300 has optional 20-inch polished-aluminum wheels. Interior upgrades included a new instrument panel with "soft-touch" materials throughout, 8.4 inch Uconnect Touch, new steering wheel and center console. Both seat-mounted and curtain side airbags were made standard. The predecessors' 2.7- and 3.5-liter engines were replaced with Chrysler's 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine producing 292 horsepower (218 kW) and 260 lb·ft (350 N·m) of torque. The 5.7-liter HEMI V8 engine remained available with 363 horsepower. A 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6 will also be available in Europe. The 2011 model is offered in Touring, Limited, 300C, and 300C AWD configurations. Touring and Limited trims will come with the Pentastar V6 while the 300C line will offer the 5.7. An SRT-8 version was unveiled at the 2011 New York International Auto Show, powered by a 6.4-liter HEMI V8 engine. Also shown was a 300S trim, which featured a blacked-out grille and headlamps, as well as 20-inch polished-face aluminum wheels with black painted pockets, and a 300C Executive series. In Continental Europe it will be sold under the Lancia badge, except for the UK where it will retain the Chrysler badge.

Chrysler 200C

The Chrysler 200 is a mid-size sedan and convertible produced by Chrysler, being introduced for the 2011 model year. The Chrysler 200 is essentially a new nameplate with a significant facelift to the outgoing 2010 Chrysler Sebring.Although the Sebring platform has been retained, there have been numerous cosmetic and powertrain changes to the 200. While the 2.4 L four-cylinder engine with either a four-speed or six-speed automatic transmission is carried over, Chrysler's new 3.6 L V6 is offered, with a six-speed automatic transmission, generating 283 horsepower (211 kW) and 260 lb·ft (350 N·m) of torque. Other changes include stiffer body mounts, a softer ride rate, revised suspension geometry, a new rear sway bar, and upgraded tires. The 200 also introduces more premium features than the Sebring, such as LED lighting, thicker seat cushioning with higher quality materials, and new measures to decrease noise, vibration, and harshness. The 200 is produced at the Sterling Heights Assembly Plant and arrived at dealers in December 2010. A 2-door convertible model was added in early 2011 with the same engine choices. The 200 name first appeared on a prototype hybrid vehicle shown at the 2009 Detroit Auto Show, called the 200C. The prototype was based on the Chrysler 300. While Chrysler's sales chief, Steven Landry, said it had been approved for production, CEO Sergio Marchionne later said it was not practical. The 200C concept was engineered to accept either a traditional gasoline engine, hybrid or electric powertrain. In Continental Europe it will be sold under the Lancia badge.

The exclusive transmission delivers uninterrupted torque to the rear wheels with 200 millisecond shift times. Despite the ridiculously high performance figures the ME four-twelve does not forget comfort, and the interior is adorned with soft leather and suede with some exposed metal and carbon fiber for that high-tech, high performance feel.
